The Harewood Chapel
Host funeral services, memorial gatherings, and cremations in the graceful modern chapel set in the memorial gardens.
Designed by Christchurch architects Warren and Mahoney, the chapel has won several architectural awards. The soaring airy space with glass walls overlooking the gardens feels calm and welcoming, a fitting place to remember and celebrate your loved one’s life.
We offer audio visual for photo presentations and music, web streaming for those who can’t attend in person, and a comfortable reception area for refreshments.
Our caring team are here to give you, and your funeral director, all the support you need to arrange your loved one’s service and cremation.
Location
The chapel is located on Wilkinson’s Road in Harewood. There is plenty of parking on site, and we’re a 10-minute walk from bus stops on Gardiners Road.
Capacity
The chapel seats around 120 people, with standing room for more. TVs are positioned so everyone can see the service. If you prefer a smaller service, internal doors in the chapel can be closed to create a more intimate space.
Reception
You can serve refreshments after your gathering in the assembly area outside the chapel. With large windows overlooking the memorial gardens, it’s a serene space to reflect on your loved one with family and friends.
